  A Wonka New Year 29th December—2nd January 2025 Trinity Park—Suffolk Show Ground Never attended this teams New Year event? If you have ever organised an event for a club you know just how much work goes into making it happen.   So imagine an average club weekend then quadruple, quintuple or sextuple it.   Somewhere within those figures you will arrive at the 120+ units and 240+ people that attended this event.    It adds a whole new meaning to putting the kettle/urn on for tea or coffee for the attendees! The organisation that goes into to planning such an event is huge.   The work required by the back room office team for just handling bookings, dietary requirements and catering supplies must be immense.   This is not to mention the list of jobs ‘to do’ ranging from liaising with the venue to booking entertainment.   I am not sure a summary of the effort required would ever do justice to their input and work.   It is best just than...

  Holly and the Ivy 6th-8th December 2024 Nacton Despite the threat of storm Darragh, 19 caravans/motorhomes made their way to Nacton to start the festivities for 2024.    If you have never been to this venue, make a point of attending an event here.   Pitched high up on the banks of the river Orwell, the views are stunning.   There are long walks down to the rivers edge, many taking you through wooded areas with an abundance of wildlife.   Well worth a walk at anytime of year. There are two venues here at Nacton scout camp, this time we were at Ravenscroft.   This has the smaller hall of the two venues and is ideally suited to a cosy pre Christmas rally.   Every one arrived on Friday and once we set ourselves up we ventured the very short distance to the hall.   As we entered we were Instantly greeted with warm mulled wine and mince pies.   The hall had been decked with Christmas decorations to add to the cosy feel.   The N...

  The Tellwright Cup Was d onated by W.C. Tellwright more years ago than anyone would wish to remember. A warded for good caravanning with Judging takes place throughout the season.   It covers all aspects of our hobby, including supporting our centre. The rules indicate that anyone can win except if you are serving on committee. So this years winners have been waiting in the wings to win for a very long time.   Both Les and Jackie have served on committee individually or as a couple continuously for a very long time.    They are regular mar shals running multiple events every year and always available to support.   Their service to our club has been outstanding. This years winners of the Tellwright Cup : Les & Jackie.  

  Invitation from South Essex Little Walden, 27th-29th September 2024. Every year during September the 5 centres of the Anglia division are invited to a fishing competition.   This event has become a go to event for those who want to support their centre using their fishing skills.    Although the rules allow for this event to be held at different venues across the region, Home Farm at Little Walden has become a favourite in recent years.   Its central location, its two lakes and friendly site owners seem to have us return year after year. This year was no different, twenty two units attended from three centres, these being South Essex, Mid Anglia and ourselves North Essex.    South Essex hosted the event on behalf of the division with Pauline & Kevin H, Tina & Tony N and Sue and Paul M marshalling.
